The Palestinian resistance has strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on displaced people’s tents in Khan Younis, resulting in the killing of civilians.
Palestinian resistance organisations like Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) have flagged Israeli attacks on displaced people’s tents as Tel Aviv’s obstinate stance on escalating tensions and undermining the truce brokered by US President Donald Trump in October.
Israel, according to Palestinian resistance and independent media houses, continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in Gaza while intensifying its occupation activities across the West Bank.
“The barbaric aggression and brutal bombing by the criminal zionist occupation army against the tents of displaced persons near the Kuwaiti Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, resulting in martyrs and wounded, including children, is a documented war crime, a disregard for the ceasefire agreement, and a blatant attempt to evade its obligations,” Hamas alleged in a statement on Wednesday, December 3rd.
Echoing similar sentiments, the PFLP stated, “The burning of tents in Mawasi Khan Younis is conclusive evidence of the occupation’s insistence on escalating the situation and deliberately undermining the truce.”
Both organisations have held Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration responsible for this transgression.
“The treacherous zionist targeting of the tents of unarmed displaced persons in Mawasi Khan Younis, which led to their burning with innocent civilians, including children, inside, constitutes a holocaust and a new, full-fledged crime of genocide and fascist state terrorism that disregards all international or humanitarian laws,” the PFLP further said in its December 3rd statement.
The left-wing resistance organisation accused the Israelis of creating “flimsy pretexts” to violate the ceasefire and target civilians in Gaza.
“This new zionist aggression is conclusive evidence of the occupation’s insistence on deliberately undermining the ceasefire agreement, and it unequivocally confirms its premeditated criminal intentions to completely escalate the situation through flimsy pretexts it creates itself,” the PFLP said.
Moreover, the PFLP has further accused the US of aiding these attacks by Israel.
“The explicit American complicity and joint coordination with the occupation in light of these crimes make the American administration a direct partner in their commission,” the Marxist-Leninist organisation added.
The resistance has appealed to the international guarantors and mediators to ensure Israel follows the ceasefire terms.
“We hold the criminal zionist occupation fully responsible for the repercussions of this escalation, and we call on mediators and guarantor states to rein in the fascist occupation from continuing its crimes, and not to allow war criminal Netanyahu and his extremist government to evade the requirements of the agreement, foremost among them the cessation of bombing operations against civilians, residential areas, and displaced persons’ tents,” the Hamas statement further states.
“We call on mediators and guarantor states to take immediate and effective action to impose mandatory and urgent mechanisms on the occupation to stop this criminal escalation and put a definitive end to its continuous violations of the ceasefire agreement,” the PFLP urged.
Neither the White House nor the US Department of State has condemned Israel’s breach of the ceasefire through these attacks on displaced people’s tents in Khan Younis. Other major allies of Israel have also not condemned the aggression.
The Israeli attack on the displaced people’s tents located on the western side of Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, killed six people and injured several others. A video showing a girl making a reel in that tent went viral as it captured the Israeli strike.
Meanwhile, Israel continues to strike the Al-Shujaiya intersection on Thursday, and its drones have repeatedly bombed several displaced people’s tents in Al-Najaa, western Khan Younis.
