West Bengal Board’s (WBCHSE) class 12th results out, 89.25% passed

The West Bengal 12th standard results (WBCHSE exam 2023) are out. A total of 89.25% of students have passed with 87 on the top 10 list.

A whopping 52,878 students scored 80% and above marks in the higher secondary (Class 12) examinations whose results were released by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) on Wednesday, May 24th. 

WBCHSE president Chiranjib Bhattacharya who addressed a press conference said that the results have been declared within 57 days of conducting the exams.

A total of 852,444 students registered for WBCHSE exams this year, which is nearly 110,000 more than the number of students registered in 2022. Out of these, 824,891 appeared in the exams and 737,807, ie, 89.25% of students have passed. It’s slightly higher than last year’s overall result in which 88.44% of students passed the WBCHSE exams.

The pass percentage of boys is 91% in WBCHSE exams 2023, while that of girls is 86%. As many as 273,580 students—38.65%of total successful students—scored 60% and above marks. 

Bhattacharya also announced the dates for next year’s Class 12 exams, which will be held from February 16th to February 29th 2024.

Students who appeared for the WBCHSE exam will be able to access the WBCHSE result 2023 by entering their registration number. 

Subhrangsu Sardar from Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya in South 24 Parganas district topped the exam after scoring 496 marks out of a total of 500 marks or 99.2%.

Shushma Khan and Abu Sama have stood second with 495 marks or 99%. Chandrabindu Maity, Anusua Saha, Piyali Das and Shreya Mallik have got the third position with 494 marks which is 98.80%.

The top 10 spots are shared between 87 students, which was 272 students in 2022. Out of these nine students are from the Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya alone.

Among the districts, Purba Medinipur topped the list after recording a 95.75% overall pass percentage in the WBCHSE exams.
