Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-affiliated wing, Samvardhinee Nyas, has started an exercise titled ‘Garbha Sanskar’ for pregnant women to teach babies values and culture in the womb.

Madhuri Marathe, the national organizing secretary of the wing, said on Monday, March 6th, that the proposed programme was launched to teach the babies ‘sanskar’ from the stage of being fetus to attaining the age of two.

Marathe explained that under the programme, the Nyas, in collaboration with gynaecologists, ayurvedic doctors and yoga trainers, will carry out chanting of the Gita shlokas, Ramayana chaupais and yoga practice during pregnancy.

Besides, She added that alongside physical health, the purification of the womb is also needed during pregnancy, and the programme wanted to ensure that process by imparting ‘sanskar’ to the babies since they are in the womb. In order to justify the motto of the campaign, she referred to how Jijabai, Shivaji’s mother, had prayed to give birth to the great leader.

Samvardhinee Nyas, a wing of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, the women’s wing of the RSS, held a workshop on Sunday, March 5th, at Jawaharlal Nehru University as a part of this nascent campaign.
