A MiG-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed and fell on a house in Bahlol Nagar in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, killing three civilians.

The IAF reported in a tweet that the MiG-21 took off from the Suratgarh airbase on a routine training sortie. The mishap reportedly took place at 9.25am on Monday, May 8th.

According to the IAF, the MiG-21 pilot ejected safely and sustained minor injuries. The IAF regretted the loss of lives and offered its “deepest condolences” to the bereaved families.

It’s reported that the IAF has constituted a high-level inquiry into the incident.

The IAF has planned to poach out the MiG-21 aircraft from its fleet. Several MiG-21 flights have suffered accidents in the past.
