Offensive continues: Palestinian resistance strikes Israeli forces in Gaza, defying all odds

Palestinian resistance, facing Israel's tactics to delay the ceasefire deal, has intensified strikes against Israeli forces in Gaza, causing immense embarrassment for Tel Aviv.

With the rising civilian death toll in the Strip, Palestinian resistance has intensified strikes targeting Israeli forces across Gaza.

Amid intense bombing on civilians, even those collecting water, the Palestinian resistance has also increased its retaliatory strikes against Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip. The attacks have triggered panic in the Israeli camp, and the latter has intensified its attacks on civilians.

As the Palestinian resistance manages to carry out retaliatory strikes on Israeli forces in Gaza, it rejects Tel Aviv’s narrative that it’s winning the battle in the besieged enclave.

Though the Palestinian attacks are smaller in scale, their blows are causing much embarrassment for the Israelis.

Palestinian resistance strikes Israeli forces in Gaza

The Palestinian resistance launched significant retaliatory strikes against Israeli forces in Shuja’iyya, east of Gaza City, on Monday, July 14th.

Palestinian resistance fighters targeted a Merkava tank crew with a guided missile, igniting its tank. According to field reports, the attack has caused serious injuries and casualties among Israeli soldiers and the rescue forces, prompting an extensive evacuation operation.

Israeli military helicopters were used to transport the wounded to hospitals. The Israeli air force remains on alert, and its artillery has been conducting random shelling in eastern Gaza City.

The Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) Nahal Brigade has reportedly sustained a severe blow.

The number of Israeli soldiers killed in Monday’s ambushes has risen to seven. Three of them were killed when a troop carrier was targeted in Khan Younis.

Palestinian resistance also launched retaliatory strikes north and central parts of Khan Younis, killing more soldiers, which isn’t confirmed.

Three IDF soldiers from an engineering corps were killed in Jabalia, while one was killed in Al-Tuffah neighbourhood, where an entire vehicle was burned to ashes.

According to the Palestinian resistance, injuries are widespread across all ambushes. Helicopter evacuations continue without pause to transport the dead and wounded from the ambush sites. The Israelis have begun a new belt of fire on Jabalia now, following the latest incident.

The Palestinian resistance has informed that they have launched retaliatory strikes at Israeli forces in Khan Younis of Gaza, which has been turned into a rubble heap by the IDF.

Islamic movement Hamas’s military wing Al-Qassam Brigades claimed their fighters targeted an Israeli troop carrier of Namer type with one of the IDF soldiers on top of it with a Yassin 105 shell near the intersection of “Street 5” with the “Western Line” north of Khan Younis city, south of the Gaza Strip. Al-Qassam Brigades fighters reportedly observed a helicopter intervention for evacuation.

Fighters of the Martyr Omar Al-Qasim Forces, the military wing of the far-left Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) were able to detonate a pre-prepared explosive device targeting an Israeli military bulldozer of type D-9, east of Sheikh Nasser neighbourhood in Khan Younis city, southern Gaza Strip, and directly hit it on Sunday, July 13th. The DFLP confirmed the attack on Monday.

The Fatah-aligned Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades claimed they had targeted a position of the IDF soldiers and vehicles infiltrating the vicinity of Street 5, north of Khan Younis city, with regular 60mm mortar shells on Monday.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s military wing, Saraya Al-Quds, also claimed they have shelled gatherings of IDF soldiers and vehicles “that infiltrated Street 5 north of Khan Younis city” with regular 60mm mortar shells.

“We destroyed a zionist military vehicle and a military bulldozer of type (D9) by detonating ‘Thaqib-penetrating’ explosive devices in the area of Abasan Al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis, the Saraya Al-Quds claimed.

So far, the Israeli side has officially confirmed the killing of IDF soldiers from the 401st Armoured Brigade, and the serious wounding of another, during a battle in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday.

The incident occurred at noon in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip, with the explosion taking place inside a tank. The IDF is reportedly “still investigating” the cause of the explosion.

Past week’s Palestinian resistance strikes against Israeli forces in Gaza

Meanwhile, the Saraya Al-Quds also announced that on Friday, July 11th, their fighters, after their return from the front lines east of Gaza, confirmed carrying out several missions in coordination with Al-Qassam Brigades fighters.

Together, they destroyed an Israeli Merkava 4 tank at 1am by detonating a pre-planted “Thaqeb” type explosive device, which led to its complete burning and the fall of the command turret.

At 3am, the Palestinian resistance retaliatory strikes destroyed an Israeli D9 military bulldozer while it was carrying out operations in Al-Batsh Cemetery by detonating a barrel-type explosive device with a mechanical ruler system.

“Our fighters observed enemy aircraft landing to evacuate the dead and wounded in both operations,” the Saraya Al-Quds claimed in its statement released on Monday.

The Saraya Al-Quds fighters also declared on Monday, July 14th, that on Wednesday, July 9th, their fighters destroyed a military vehicle by detonating a Thaqib – penetrating explosive device and clashed with an IDF engineering force from a close range using medium and appropriate weapons, inflicting confirmed casualties, which necessitated the intervention of helicopter aviation for support operations and the evacuation of dead and wounded from the operation site in the vicinity of Osama bin Zaid Mosque in the Abasan Al-Kabira area, east of Khan Younis.

Israel resorts to ‘Hannibal doctrine’

According to Israeli sources, Tel Aviv has resorted to its “Hannibal Doctrine” after the Palestinian resistance struck the Israeli forces in Shuja’iyya.

The “Hannibal Doctrine” allow the IDF to kill its personnel if they are prone to being taken prisoners by the resistance. As the IDF believes its captive personnel will turn into liabilities, it adopts the controversial doctrine whenever it faces ignominious setbacks.

Rising death toll

On Monday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that Israeli attacks killed 20 civilians in the Strip, including three retrieved, and 557 injuries arrived at the semi-functioning hospitals in the past 24 hours.

“A number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defence crews are unable to reach them until now,” the ministry said in its bulletin.

According to the ministry, the Israeli aggression has resulted in 58,386 civilians being killed and 139,077 injured since October 7th, 2023.

“An additional 240 martyrs have been added to the cumulative statistics of martyrs, whose data has been completed and approved by the Judicial Committee following up on the notifications and missing persons file.

The toll of martyrs and injuries from March 18th, 2025, until today: 7,568 martyrs and 27,036 injuries,” the ministry added.

Hamas condemns Netanyahu

Meanwhile, in a statement released on Monday, Hamas has condemned Israel’s dilly-dallying tactics regarding the ceasefire framework that is proposed by the Palestinian resistance.

The organisation accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of excelling “at sabotaging negotiation rounds, one after another, and does not want to reach any agreement.”

“Our resistance fighters are waging a war of attrition that surprises the enemy daily with innovative field tactics, causing it to lose the initiative and disrupting its calculations, despite its superior firepower and air superiority,” Hamas added regarding the Palestinian resistance continuing retaliatory strikes targeting Israeli forces in Gaza.

“The longer the war continues, the deeper the occupation army sinks into Gaza’s quicksand, and the more exposed it becomes to the qualitative strikes of the resistance,” Hamas asserted.

“The criminal Netanyahu is dragging his army and his entity into an absurd war with no horizon; its continuation not only threatens the lives of prisoners and soldiers but also portends a strategic disaster for his entity,” it further added.

“The ‘absolute victory’ that Netanyahu promotes is a great illusion, to cover up a resounding field and political defeat,” Hamas stated in conclusion.
