Yemeni Armed Forces have announced that their UAV unit has managed to hit vital targets inside Israel on Tuesday, August 12th. In a statement issued on the late evening of Tuesday (AST), Brigadier General Yahya Saree provided information about the operations.
This marks one of the latest strikes by Yemen, which is the sole Arab country to declare a naval blockade targeting Israel for the latter’s bombing and planned starvation of civilians in Gaza.
According to Brigadier Saree, the Yemeni Armed Forces have used drones to hit Haifa, Negev, Umm al-Rashrash, and Beersheba in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel.
“The UAV force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out four military operations with six drones, targeting four vital targets for the Israeli enemy in the areas of Haifa, Negev, Umm al-Rashrash, and Beersheba in occupied Palestine,” the Yemeni military official claimed.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have not confirmed the strikes, and the country’s heavily censored state-sponsored media refrains from reporting damages, military and otherwise.
The Yemeni Armed Forces managed to hit Israel at a time when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was sharing a video targeting the Iranian people on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

و من به شما میگویم، اگر بخواهید، ایران آزاد یک رویا نیست.
اکنون زمان عمل است.
اکنون زمان مبارزه برای آزادی است.

In his video, Mr Netanyahu criticised the Iranian regime for supporting the resistance amid a growing water crisis in the country and gave an open call to the people of the Islamic Republic to overthrow their government.
Tehran is the key supporter of Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, known as the Houthi insurgency, and the latter are part of its Axis of Resistance in the region that fights Israel.
In each of their military operations, the Yemeni Armed Forces have highlighted their solidarity with the cause of Palestinians, the people of Gaza.
“Triumphing for the oppressed Palestinian people and their dear Mujahideen, and in response to the crimes of genocide and starvation perpetrated by the Zionist enemy against our people in the Gaza Strip,” Brigadier General Saree said at the beginning of the statement.
Highlighting the plight of the people of Gaza, he said, “The Zionist enemy’s continued implementation of its plan aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause through genocide, starvation, and displacement will have serious repercussions for all Arab and Islamic countries and peoples,” adding that “as the liquidation of the Palestinian cause will be a prelude to the enemy’s violation of other peoples and countries unless these countries support the steadfastness of Gaza, the first line of defence for the entire nation.”
Reiterating their commitment towards Palestine, the Yemeni Armed Forces claimed the recent hit on Israel is not the end.
“We will continue our support operations until the aggression stops and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted,” Brigadier General Saree said while concluding.
